Inspiring poses

Inspiring Poses:

Fashion Photography

This photo is very subtle but at the same time projects a dramatic feel, the model is leaning back in a relaxed position that reminds me of the pose photographed by Helmut Newton. The trousers are flared which makes her legs look longer, also the position on the camera and her leaning would add to this effect.

Model - Natasha Kasatina

This pose should out to me because her makeup is bold and her hair is wavy, I like the texture of the eye shadow, it gives off a shine, her hand is in the image to show her nails, this also gives anther splash of colour. Some fashion and beauty editorials photograph women with heir hands in the picture to represent an innocent childlike figure, the models look submissive and sometimes cornered away. This image also has hands in the picture but it hasn't given the same effect. She looks powerful and there is reason for her hand to be in the frame; to advertise the nails. I agree this image is a good beauty editorial, the photographer has managed to make her look confident with her hands rather than the opposite.

This is an illustration I have found, it drew my attention by the amount of hair on these women, they are very different but draw in the same way. I admire the artist's way of drawing to illustrate different poses, they are facing away from each other and also have different expressions.

Beauty advertisement

Cosmetic adverts and their effects on women, desetwhale.wordpress.com, viewed 16.10.15 (digital image)
'natural is beautiful and we hope the cosmetic industry follows the trend'

This photo inspires me, not only for the minimal retouching done but the message behind the advert, it is promoting the confidence of women, the use of natural beauty and to stop using so much photoshop in fashion and beauty. Using this can have a great effect on women especially people and young girls who don't know about photoshop are aren't as knowledgeable in it. To mask someone skin, whether it is to smooth it out and remove wrinkles blemishes, birth marks, ageing, is impossible in real life without surgery, this is the effect it is having on people today. Women are uncomfortable with themselves naturally and especially the young and impressionable, damage can be done to confidence form a young age. It is horrible to see this happening nowadays, and adverts like this one fro dove are an inspiration to ll cosmetic companies.
