Camera tutorial

Camera tutorial

www.dailymail.comMonalynGracia/Corbis camera set up picture.

The camera I will be using throughout my years of study will be basically at the same settings. This is because the type of photography I will be doing is close ups glamour shots of the face and hair. The photos need to accentuate the beauty of the model and give a flawless look, this look is made by the makeup and the help of the camera setting, the lighting and the position of light and dark boards. These boards determine where the light will reflect off the face and where shadows appear.

ISO: To get the look wanted in each photo the settings are important, the ISO for this setting will be at it's lowest which is 100, this will create the finest quality of an image.

Shutter speed: This will be set at 1/160, this will not make the image brighter when using a flash.

Aperture

Continuity: This is what makes a photograph look professional.

Studio photography: For studio photography ensure the camera is set to M for manual.

Lighting: To achieve the perfect picture, the lighting is key, use a lighting umbrella along with a kill spill to protect the client from the light and flash but also spread the light and create the best image possible.

High key and low key beauty: high key is when the light is on the face coming from directly in front; where the camera is, and low key is a more spread open light, outside the face zone.

Sync leads: these connect the flash light to the hot shoe adapter positioned onto of the camera.

Hot shoe adapter: sits on top of the camera and makes sure the flash and res of the camera taking a picture happen at the same time, this is connected by sync leads.

Small boom: this is another light used in the studio, it is much heavier and bigger, there is a weight and a counter weight to ensure the light is safe and stays in position.
