Choosing the perfect photo

Researching the perfect photo...

These photos I found from the book 'Make-up is art' professional techniques for creating original looks. (AOFM) The academy of freelance makeup 2009, 2010, 2013.

Make-up artists: Jana Ririnui, Sandra Cooke, Rachel Wood, Jose Bass, Jo Sugar, Lina Dahlbeck, Phillippe Milleto, Christina Iravedra, Caroline Roper, Jade Hunka, Nat Van Zee, Maria Papaodpoulou, Elsbeth Tan, Sharka, Karla M Barchiere.

I have chosen a range of subtle photos to research into the bass of the makeup to the face. I feel these portray a flawless and beautiful look without showing too much colour other than a splash of red on the lips or in the hair. I love the look of this top left makeup face, it is the same 50's style of Marilyn Monroe, and I really admire this era and the style of the  makeup.

I particularly like the photo on the upper left; the model has very pale skin and dark red hair, it is styled very well and ties in to the Elizabethan project, I feel it has put a modern twist on the Elizabethan style of hair and makeup.

These next series of photos I have selected from 'Harper's Bazaar magazine' October 2015 edition.

The make-up fashioned on these models is again very fair to portray a flawless and 'daytime' style.

Again I have gone for a more natural look, this is because we are focusing on this style for our first project.

This photo on the upper right is one of my favourites I have found so far; I like the sense of the emotion the model has portrayed and the photographer has captured it well. This makeup is one of the only ones that has added stronger colours to the skin; the model looks tanned and contoured with red lips that draw the eye, this also matches with the red clothing she is wearing.

I have always been liked the make-up style of Marlin Monroe, her makeup artist was able to enhance her beauty and her iconic look will forever inspire me to recreate this on myself. This photo was from Vogue magazine.
I also like the black and white image of the lady (upper right) I feel todays fashion photos look away from the older generation, and although the makeup isn't strong, this photo portrays beauty in a different light. The model has portrayed a sad but controlled emotion captured well by the photographer.

I like this photo from vogue magazine, it shows timeless beauty and recreates a look from the past. This is subtle but shows incredible cheek bones, this was something the photographer thought about with using different lighting techniques and getting the reflections right.

l like this 'pixy' style of makeup on the left, the model has a good face shape for this type of make-up, the artist would have taken that into consideration when applying it, matched with the jewellery and make-up to enhance the eyes, together it has given this model the look of a pixy/fairy/cute style.

This makeup again goes back to
my admiration of the 50's style,
although it is not a photograph, it
stood out to me. The image has
a very sophisticated look and also
reminds me of Marilyn Monroe.
